Jay Piper. Seattle.
When did you start listening to TBTL? How did you find the show?
Oh man...radio days. I sort of miss Sean and Jen. I think originally Ira might have turned me on to TBTL. I'm not sure. It was so long ago. I sure like you guys these days too, even if Andrew had someone else fix up his front porch. Whatever, Dude. Hit me up for that secret door one day. 🙂
How would your friends describe you?
Weirdly, a lot of my friends put me on a pedestal of some sort. I'm not sure exactly why. I like to think it's just ‘cause I'm a solid sort of guy. I try and I hope I keep up the good vibes.
What was your favorite cereal when you were a kid? Is it still your fav?
Hmm...I think it was Apple Jacks. Maybe Cap'n Crunch (tho it really jacks up one's mouth). Presently I don't eat much breakfast. I make a nice elevated BLT for brunch tho. 😁
What food do you love to eat the most of?
Whatever we come up with at home. I do a fair amount of work for some amazing restaurateurs and am inspired by many delicious dishes. I've been really enjoying the wild stuff lately. Elk steaks are a favorite these days. And oysters!
What’s the best or worst nickname you ever had?
I like simply “Piper.” Not really a nickname. Misc bird names, given the Jay and the Piper. As a kid tho they went with rhyming: “Hyper Piper the Diaper Wiper”. Not so good.
If you could play one song on TBTL, what would it be?
Another hard one. My favorite is In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. On the show? Maybe Millionaire's Holiday by Combustible Edison? My tastes are all over the place.
What’s a special skill you have that you’re most proud of?
I can make stuff. My favorite accomplishments are my daughters ❤️❤️❤️
What’s a special skill that you *wish* you had?
I feel like there's always so much to learn and be inspired by. I want to be better in the kitchen, in the shop, on the ice, as a partner, as a Dad. I'm holding my own but there's always room for improvement. ❤️
If you were driving down the street and you saw Luke and Andrew on the sidewalk, what would you yell at them as you drove past?
Really? Probably nothing. Then I'd endlessly go over the things I should've said! I like the “Ten” sign in sign language, but that only goes so far.
